I was amazed that our 11 lb 1 year old cat let us put a collar on her [it slides easily under the straps]. She doesn't particularly like being touched, except when she wants to be brushed, and she can pinch us pretty hard [yes, we've done all the training; I've had many cats and she's never had this problem] If she feels she's been touched enough, or even if we get a little too close that's close to her, she's mostly asleep for the first 2 days and looks glassy, not jumping for toys like she normally does. But she was also more tolerant of touch and seemed to enjoy it more. By the afternoon of day 3 [today] she seems to have settled in - she just gave me a sip, ate a zoom and was really good at chasing toys and jumping around to catch them. She is no doubt even more sleepy than usual. I hope that when things settle down, the increased calm she is feeling will not translate into sleep but into a more relaxed demeanor.
