We got them for one reason: to keep a small dog warm in the high desert for a while in December. I taped some (8) of these under the blanket to warm them, in their (small) puppy carrier and let them warm up. I then placed her on top of a blanket and wrapped a windproof blanket around her entire carrier to keep her warm, cozy, and happy. Of course I wouldn't attach them to a dog that might chew on them and I would always put something between the dog and the heating pads because they might be too hot to be directly on the dog's skin. But I just wanted to share this idea. It kept the little dog warm and happy when I wore it on a long walk despite the cold wind and we really appreciate it. Of course, they also worked great in our mittens and pockets. They held up well all day. Five stars.
