I'd like to say that first off, this is an incredible deal for a set of 4 LED pods. I don't think you'll be able to find a better deal, bang for your buck or whatever you want to call it.Now let me say that these lights are incredibly bright. They will 100% work for me, but your results may vary. I have a roof basket on top of my 4Runner, and these will be my side and rear lights. I'll end up putting one pointing downward between the 2 doors and the other 2 will be on the rear corners of my basket also pointing down giving me 360 illumination when I need it.Lots of people use these as ditch lights and expect them to be brighter than their headlights and they probably are. But the distance the lights travel are the issue. If you look at my picture you can see that all of the LEDS are not centered in the reflector. This is the reason why these lights function more like flood lights than they do spot lights. In order to get the brightest light and the farthest throw, the manufacturer needs to spend time to center the LEDs so that they reflect properly off of the reflector for maximum distance and brightness. If you have ever used a microscope before, I think that is the best comparison I can offer you. When you look through the eye piece of a microscope, if you're not looking dead center, you won't see a clear or whole picture. You can fix this by moving in closer and almost shoving the eye piece into your eye. But if you look through the eye piece properly, you can be a good few inches away from the eye piece and still see the picture clearly.Pros:1) Extremely good value for the money.you won't find a better deal or bang for your buck2) Very bright lights for their size3) Easy to setup and use, just follow the directions.4) All wiring needed to set these up close to each other are included.Cons:1) Not as bright as they could be2) Advertised as spot lights, but because of poor LED centering on the reflector, max brightness and max throw are severely affected.I would still buy these as throw aways or if I just wanted more light.because let's face it.if you're buying LED light pods, you always want more lights. But there's a reason why Diode Dynamics, Rigid Industries and other high end light bar makers cost so much more money. Their quality is unmatched. And that quality requires a lot more time which then costs more money.I put these to use 2-3 times a year if I'm lucky, so I'll still buy these cheap lights and be happy. But if I overlanded all the time, I would spend the extra money on better lights.
