I unwrapped this item today to use in this space in my closet that I don't use to store clothes and that already has floor shelves underneath. When I first put it in the closet I wasn't entirely happy because it was too far forward in the closet for my liking - I don't plan on using a hanging rod underneath so I don't need depth. wasted on him. Hanging from the regular part of a clothes rail on my closet shelf, it fit my closet perfectly, but I wanted to place it a little higher and a little further back, but I had a diagonal support rod holding the top shelf, which got in the way. As a result, I needed a cut out at the top of this hanging shelf, which is not usually appropriate for these types of shelves as they are usually made out of flimsy plastic or cardboard. This one has shelves (two top shelves, two middle shelves and two bottom shelves), all made of corrugated plastic. These are real quality items. I decided to take a chance and cut slits at the top and back (the fabric resists tearing and has a waxy feel). After cutting the slot it fitted my closet perfectly and I'm happy to report that absolutely no discernible structural integrity has been lost. You can probably put anything on them without any risk of them collapsing (unlike the flimsy stock version you can find everywhere). I strongly recommend this product. I'm amazed at how durable it is, even after accidentally cutting one of the shelves halfway to put it in just the right spot in my closet. I didn't really notice anything about the design either. The stitching is of high quality, the fabric is dense and durable, the metal hooks are thick and durable. 6/5
