Maybe I have a homeless fan, but if the battery inside is not charged, it will not work when connected to the network. And the battery will drain while it is working and plugged in. I tested it when I got it and I couldn't use any of the functions except 1st fan speed when it was plugged in. I charged the battery for a day and everything seemed to work. I took it on a trip and left it on and off all day. I would turn it on at night. On the last night of the trip it stopped working when plugged in. I don't understand how this fan is supposed to work. I want it to work when plugged in so it doesn't run out of power in the middle of the night. Otherwise I like it. The light is bright and the fan is quiet.
