OK - so I didn't use this canopy to keep mosquitoes away from a sleeping baby. I used this wonderful invention to protect a potted blueberry plant from birds. Birds have eaten all of my blueberries for the past four years. I might have one or two. This year I was determined to get them all for myself. I had to build a trellis for the bush. The usual holes in the bird nets are too big - in the past, the birds could easily get to the berries. So this year I was determined to outsmart them. I hung a canopy from a street lamp, placed a pot of blueberries (huge) under the netting, and tied the netting to the bottom of the pot with string. The mesh is thin enough to keep birds out but allows the sun and rain to hit the plant. Because it has a curtain hole, I can easily access the bush to pick ripe berries. And this net is hard. Strong enough that a bear cannot destroy it. I live on the edge of a scrub forest and one night a black bear cub came onto my porch and decided he wanted blueberries. He knocked over the whole pot and got scared. The berry plant AND the canopy survived unscathed.
