My ever-changing work schedule lately requires that I sleep during the day, so I had to close my bedroom door to block out the sunlight. This worked great for me but my cat started meowing at the door to be let in. Looking for a solution that would satisfy both of our needs, I came across this cute cat door. It was well packaged and undamaged and came with a template for cutting holes (okay but not necessary). I removed the door, pulled out the hinge pins, hauled them to my basement workshop and got to work. After reading other reviews before purchasing, I ignored the paper template that came with it and just circled the inside of the plastic frame itself. Then it was just a matter of wiping with a jigsaw, peeling off the mounting tape previously stuck to each side of the frame, and sticking it securely to the door. It looks pretty crisp, the brown plastic blends in with my brown door a bit, and the wide plastic frame thankfully hides any imperfect hole cuts. The included brush slips discreetly into the channel under the arch for easy removal for cleaning and is completely optional.
