Cut very small!
I bought these for my 4 year old who usually needs a size 6/7 for boys! When I put the shorts on they fit like biker shorts! Way too small! If this is what you want for your child and the actual size they usually wear fits well, I would recommend buying two to three sizes to match your normal size.
