We have been seeing large paw prints around our house and couldn't wait to hook up this camera to see exactly what animals are visiting us each night. I'm happy to report that this trail camera from Heegomn gave us the answers we needed. The camera itself is quite light, compact and unobtrusive. It seems well protected from the weather and we actually had no problem keeping it outdoors for almost a month. Setup is fairly straightforward, although some of the on-screen programming elements are a bit cryptic. However, there aren't many options to install. So once you get the hang of it, you're done. I installed the camera. on a small tree with the included strap. Getting it exactly where I wanted it wasn't easy, but of course that goes for any camera. One thing I found difficult was knowing exactly where the camera was pointing. I think because of the way I hung it it wasn't easy to snap a few shots and see what the lens sees. I'm sure it's not good for battery life, but being able to connect Bluetooth to an app on your phone so you can see what the camera is seeing would be a great addition. Also, in my case, I left the camera where it was for about three weeks. I used lithium batteries and was surprised that there seemed to be plenty of juice left even after three weeks of recording. I took advantage of the ability to create short videos and higher resolution frames each time the motion sensor was triggered and was rewarded with lots of pictures and videos. I found the motion sensor works better at night. At night, the camera's field of view is limited by the built-in IR emitters, requiring movement near the camera to start recording. During the day I accidentally set the camera to have a long field of view to the horizon and often a light breeze caused enough movement in our trees to start the shot. This resulted in many useless entries. I really can't fault the camera - next time I'll put it where it won't see the trees flapping in the wind. I found the images I received to be of fairly high quality. Daytime images were sharp, clear and well exposed. As you'd expect, images are a bit grainy and blurry at night, but overall you'll have no problem figuring out what you're looking at. In our case, the recording time was limited by the size of the memory card in the camera. The 32GB card we used gave us just over three weeks. Obviously a lot depends on what you're shooting and how much motion you get, as well as the resolution and other settings you tweak. Given that the camera seems to have plenty of power left, I suspect you could get a month or more with a larger memory card. In our case, about half of the images captured were just a puff of wind. the most frustrating aspect of using the camera. But among the rest of the images, we saw detailed photos of various birds, a snake, a possum, several deer, a coyote, a neighbor's cat, and my personal favorite, a little bear. Lots of features at a very affordable price. Definitely worth a look if you're looking for an easy way to control an area for a long time.
