Very pretty but fixings can get confusing

No instructions (not that you really need them) but the screws are a bit confusing. I ended up using mine. 4 screws that don't go anywhere and 3 countersunk screws that don't fit the application either. Metal bands are inserted into the back of the band. You can use 2 with tabs to slide into the ends and expose the screws and bracket part, or you can use 2 or 3 of a different style. I believe you would screw them on first and then put a strip on top. My application was just on a wooden workbench and I wasn't concerned about economy, so I just put tab mounts in the ends and screwed them in with a pair of 5/8" hex head screws. Note on sockets. When I first used it, I had a hard time inserting the plug into the outlet. I was about to announce that something inside was broken or misaligned but decided to try a lot harder to get it in. The plug is very tight!

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Something is wrong
