    Quality product but you need to check six inches.

    Quality product but 6 inch connector cable needs to be tested before installation. We found one that opened up during testing. The cable is packaged with a bend in the middle to fit in the box.

    Poor quality control

    Don't be like me. Be sure to check all equipment (including spare parts!) as they are poorly controlled. Of the 6 items I bought, I only needed 4 right away. The other two were spare parts. Upon opening the replacement module, I found that the components were incorrectly soldered - looks like junk. Some components on the board are not even on pads. I'm out of my return window so I'm stuck with that.

    Unreliable surge protector product

    I installed one of these in a remote location and after 2 months of use it started to fail. The network connection started dropping intermittently, and after a few days of intermittent connection, it dropped completely. Removing the device restored full communication. It could have been the cable that came with it, as someone here pointed out, but I didn't feel like troubleshooting and just threw it all away. Too bad, I had faith in APC products for many years, so this disappointed me.

    Connection problems 1 Gb, timeouts/loss of connection

    Although the description says protection up to 1GB, I have problems with ping and loss of connection on a cable between my PC and switch/router when protection devices are installed at both ends. Reading other reviews, changing the 6 inch patch cords didn't fix the issue. It ranges from ping timeouts to general errors (indicating that the NIC has detected a loss of connection).     I live in Florida, the lighting capital of the world, and have cable internet. After losing 3-4 modems to indirect shock over the years I decided it was time to look into surge protection.     Needed in South Florida - Land of Lightning

    I bought 2 surge protectors from APC, one for landline and one for ethernet. With millions of dollars of home devices connected to a landline phone and Ethernet network, these devices offer some level of security. While I have surge protectors for my whole house, it doesn't protect a landline phone or network cable and attached devices, so I find them absolutely necessary.     We have a lot of thunderstorms here and since we have external devices connected with CAT6 cables (generator, 5GHz antenna for our internet etc.) I wanted these incoming connections to go through a surge protector before they to be connected to the network. my network switch, although they are also fully shielded and grounded connections.     When I was building my house six years ago, I connected an additional building to an underground PVC pipe with CAT6A. On each page I've added one of these ProtectNet networks.
