I live in Florida, the lighting capital of the world, and have cable internet. After losing 3-4 modems to indirect shock over the years I decided it was time to look into surge protection. I found an extension cord with surge protection for both coax and RJ45, so I plugged everything in. The only problem was that the RJ45 channel limited my speed to 100Mbps, so I bought APC ProtectNet. I've had it for about a year now with no problems and I'm getting the 200Mbps speeds my service provider expects, so I can only assume it's good for the advertised gigabit speeds. Very happy with the purchase and have even recommended it to others.
