I suggest you do yourself a favor and set up something similar to what I did depending on how you set up your flash. I put two strips of tape on the left and right side of the flash where the gel tabs go in and most likely I'll break a toothpick in half and tape it to create a small gap for the gel to seep through . easily exchanged. I had to stretch the rubber band quite a bit to slide on one side and then struggle to do the same on the opposite side. My flash is currently mounted on an S-type mount that's mounted in Neewer's Octo softbox, so there's even less room to tug and tug on the elastic. I can handle friction tape for now, but I think taking it off and sticking broken toothpicks on each side as a little boost will make it even better.
