UPDATE: After I put the extra epoxy plastic washer where I wanted it I absolutely LOVE this holder. That's great. Too bad the included sticky pad didn't work for more than a day or two - useless. Otherwise I would give 5+ stars. I finally have a great way to protect my phone in the car. The only problem is that the self-adhesive plate can't fully secure the mount to anything other than glass, which is the ideal medium for maximum suction. I need to put my phone away from the windshield and in a convenient place. I tried an adhesive pad attached to what I found to be a very smooth vertical surface next to the shifter/radio complex. The plastic cover adhered well. In an hour. Then everything fell to the ground. I glued the gasket in place with epoxy and now I have a permanent gasket installation. I can still slide the mount out and attach the windshield, but I MUCH prefer the lower and right hand position. Works great and the black plastic backing fits perfectly. looks perfect
