Everything ok. "Premium" is a marketing ploy. Don't expect an ATH-M50 (or even an M40) plus mic at this price point. They appear to be based on the ATH-PRO5 DJ headphones, both in basic design and driver size (44mm vs. 45mm on the M50, 40mm on the M40). Keep in mind that these are closed-back PG1 models and open-back PDG1 models with 40mm drivers. They are very comfortable even if you wear glasses. I had them replace a pair of Plantronics Rig 500 Pros that were broken. I found that in the under 100 range (and often higher) most gaming headphones looked dumb or trash or both. Plantronics were uncomfortable and I often had to interrupt my gaming sessions because my head started to hurt. I can wear them for hours. I used to only use my speakers when playing solo, but now I enjoy carrying them. They are a revelation playing Rez Infinite. In other games like Fallout 76, footsteps and shots are very clear. My teammates didn't complain about it. I don't have the remote control issues that others have reported, the volume and mute controls are fine. Maybe I'm lucky. The mic seems really good, I had to move it away from my face, my voice was so loud in command. Sonically, the bass seems to be boosted (the bass drum on BLACKPINK's "As if it's Your Last" is huge), it seems clipped somewhere in the middle (low mids?), and I have no complaints about the high frequencies. I wouldn't want to use them for making music, but they're good for listening to music, especially on my phone. I think it's great that you can swap out the gaming and smartphone cables. These cables have a block on one end that inserts into the phones so they cannot be accidentally pulled out. There is also a very long splitter cable extension that you can plug into the back of your PC. I play on both PS4 and PC so it's nice to have that. The PG1s don't look particularly like gamer phones, more like something from the 80's or 90's, and not necessarily in a good way. The gold accents are popping, the outside of the cans has a black piano finish core - piano finish is a design trend that should have stayed in the '00s. (They came out in 2014). They are very similar in shape to the good old Sony MDR-V6/7506, only unlike them they don't fold. I wish they had a more minimalistic design like the PRO5 or a design more akin to the M50. The ATH-G1 replaced them and they're a more M50-like design, although the G1's headband looks silly and unlike them the G1's microphone is detached but the cable isn't. They are cheaper and I am very happy with them.
