Does not fit properly

Does not fit in the groove. I spent 40 minutes sliding this little thing into place. And yes, I know it needs to be squeezed like a feather. I believe the plastic strap was made and not the pin. He just wouldn't come in no matter what I did. I broke two nails trying and got help from two people who couldn't do it either. upset.
