slightly brighter but not sure that brightness justifies a price 3x's higher

I feel this lantern is "slightly" brighter than my Coleman and other generic Asian brand lantern that's flooded Walmart, however it's not necessarily worth paying 3x's the price for the little bit of extra brightness.Pro:1. Used D batteries which will last longer than AA used in generic Asian brand2. Still small enough, lightweight enough3. Simple settings, on, off, bright, low, flashing with clicks of same button4. Hanging hookCon:1. Not too much brighter, a little misleading with the "up to" 1300 lumens. I really doubt it!2. Not worth paying 3'x as much because I don't feel I'm getting 3x's the brightness3. didn't care for the screw on bottom that required matching up the pin before turning, let's just screw bottom back on!I have a photo of all three lanterns ON at same time HIGHEST setting. Not much difference. But in the individual photos of the Coleman, AYL and generic Asian lanterns, you can see on the carpet how it's lit up a little more?Coleman is on the left, AYL middle and typical Asian lantern that I've bought before with many different names on right.

Pros
  • With a battery life of up to six days straight, the AYL Starlight is perfect for an extended camping trip where access to power sources is scarce
Cons
  • Can be too bright for use in a small tent
