So far my cats love this bed but after a few months the filling gets lumpy with high and low spots that I can't smooth out. You will feel uncomfortable as the situation continues to deteriorate and is likely to get rougher. I purposely bought it for the edge roll because they like to lean on it and use it as a little pillow. The fabric is thin. Haven't washed it yet but I don't think it takes too many washes and it will make the lumps worse too. I sprayed it all over with alcohol and let it dry so it can be sanitized before my kids use it. Also, the manufacturer's box was sealed with tape and the tip of the blade was passed through the center of the tape to open it. The bed was packed so tightly in the box that it would have been very easy to cut open the bed yourself. Luckily the blade only cut through the plastic bag around the bed and went through the space between the folds of fabric but didn't cut the bed about 1/4 inch.
