Review on ☕ Hario Glass Coffee Server 1000ml: The Ultimate Brewing Companion for Coffee Lovers by Daniel Jackson

Revainrating 2 out of 5

It would be nice if it wasn't glass, much more fragile than a beer bottle

Let me first say that I am biased towards the Hario brand and I look forward to seeing it. finally the right carafe for your V60 glass cone filter. I've been using the Hario V60 for many years now and it outperforms every manual or automatic coffee method/device I've used (which, as a coffee lover and former barista, is quite a lot). The V60 brews coffee better than any Auto, Chemex, French Press, Aeropress, Smart, Melita (or any other manual dripper) etc. and is made of very strong and thick glass so I had high hopes for it . However, I had 2 and both broke within a week. The first broke while cleaning it with a sponge - apparently I used force and chalked it with it. The second broke after 5 uses for no reason. I guess I put it too hard on the counter, but by "too much" I mean "regular coffee pot placement on the counter". I've never broken a coffee pot in 15 years, let alone broken easily/quickly. Eventually I will be replacing the Yama coffee pot/carafe that came with the vacuum coffee maker kit they made. I think it's around $35 here, but it's much higher quality with much thicker glass. I used this about 5 years ago. It took a lot of abuse but eventually broke down when my cat decided it didn't belong on the counter. I took this as an opportunity to finally get this Hario for use with the V60, but it just wasn't worth it in the end. I have now spent the same amount as if I had just replaced Yama and only lasted 2 weeks.
