Review on Think Tank Airport Navigator Messenger Bag - 75 Cm, Black (Travel And Carry With Ease) by David Carmody

Revainrating 4 out of 5

FITS THE MAJORITY OF WHAT I WANTED A ROLLER CASE FOR.

Of course your always gonna want that extra few inches to cram in something different but I am pleased with it. The top load gives me access to my 7DII with a 70-200 IS 2.8, 40D + grip with a Sigma 16-35 1.8 and divider space between to pull out my 580EXII and Blackrapid straps. That leaves space for a Tele extender, fisheye, batteries, chargers, wireless remotes and various lens filters. I took the rain cover out for added room and stuffed it in one of the side pockets since outside the bag is where you need it in the first place. If a shower pops up on you the last thing you want to do is open up the main compartment and expose your entire kit to the water. A built in security cable would have been nice but I found that one of the cable locks like used for firearms can loop around poles and the retractable handle. Our local police frequently hand these out at events. It may not be as formidable as it looks but most of the time is more about slowing down a thief and keeping honest folks honest. This bag has worked nice setting in the passenger floor board ready for a grabbing the camera where ever I'm driving. The same for having the bag in the bleachers to change cameras while still being able to have stuff zippered shut and locked if I don't have someone to keep watch for me.Looking for a good bag to loop on the retractable handle and piggyback for carry in magic arm and superclamp kit. Which brings me to the only other real wishlist for this bag and that is more attachment points on the outside to strap accessory bags.

Pros
  • Well made and easy to use, wished it was a bit larger in height for longer lenses.
Cons
  • Awkward to carry
