Perhaps this is normal for a window that never opens.
I use this on the drivers side of my car. Wherever I drove the sun seemed to beating down the other side of the car! But he didn't stay in place, and the suction devices "got lost" in the car. Also, it was a bit difficult for me to see through this window when cars drove by. Maybe that's normal for a window that never opens very far, even in the back seat.
