I bought this to have a light next to my front door for when we go in at night. I should probably find a way to hang it up as I think it would be so much prettier. I was hoping that the vibrating function would sense the door being opened and turn on the light, and sometimes it did, but usually we had to slam the door. That being said, when you actually hold or touch it, the vibration detection is very sensitive, and I ended up turning it off and leaving the light on the whole time. I get a lot of compliments when people enter my apartment! It looks cheap. but it's cheap so who cares. If I had a child that needed a night light I would buy one in a heartbeat. It's cute and quite small to fit on a child's bedside table, it's very light and made of plastic so it won't be difficult for a child to pick it up. It collects dust and fingerprints like crazy, but you only have to wipe it off every now and then.
