I bought a small size for my guinea pigs when I have them outside. I put this outside in their big cage so they always have a place to hide. I line the floor with newspaper and hay in case they run into the potty indoors. The lower part is not attached, so it can be removed for cleaning if necessary. The roof is also unattached so you can detach the top to easily pull your pet out if needed. This kennel has legs to keep it off the ground so it doesn't absorb moisture from the floor and ruin the wood. Legs help keep it ventilated. The door opens easily. The lock on the door makes it easy to lock up my shy guinea pigs so I can open the lid and catch them to bring back inside. I like the look of this little house. It was so quick and something to collect. There was even a screwdriver. I didn't need any additional tools at all.
