So this tip is a really big improvement. I mainly write and paint. It's pretty, accurate, precise and smooth. It doesn't feel like you're writing on glass like a regular nib does. I use adhesive paper and ESR protective glass. Both work very well with this tip. Unless someone improves on this design, that's where I stopped looking for Apple pencil tips. I will say this as a warning. My 4 year old grabbed it and scratched the paper, not from using the ballpoint pen but from the plastic bit poking into it. So be aware that at a large angle, the matte finish may be scratched. Just something to note.
