Review on ๐Ÿ”Ž Nail Clippers with Fold-Away Magnifier, LED Light, and Enhanced Care for Elderly Seniors, Pets, and Babies - Promotes Reduced Eye Strain for Fingernails & Toenails by Eden Smith

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Great idea, poor execution, terrible packaging.

I usually cut my nails with a desk magnifier lamp. For toenails I lower myself and the lamp to the floor. (I hope you enjoyed this picture.) "Did anyone invent a hair clipper with a magnifying light?" I asked. So I went to Amazon and lo and behold, someone had. Unfortunately, the hair clipper itself is not very good. It cuts short, tough little snips in a straight line. Due to the "protection" on one side, the nail clipper cannot be placed on the nail from the side, which makes it very difficult to cut cleanly, especially on the toes. I was trying to see if the hair clipper could be removed. Plastic so I can put a better one in - like the ones you get at the supermarket checkout for 99 cents - but I can't. Good quality lamp and magnifying glass. But since they can't be moved, you must align each cut in a straight line between four points: 1. Your eyes 2. Light 3. Blade 4. Nail. stapled together - and should just reach the nail, since you can't insert the scissors from the side because of the plastic protection - points 1 and 4 require quite a bit of skill. This is easy with some nails, almost impossible with others, especially the nail on the smallest toe. I'm pretty flexible; At 55 I can still touch my nose with my toes. (Enjoy this picture too.) But I couldn't line up and see every single nail with this tool. My final gripe is that this thing was unnecessarily wrapped in a lot more plastic than it should be. So yes, I will punish the manufacturer for choking the whales. I thought about returning it but decided to keep it for myself because it fits a few of my 20 nails and it looks like nobody else makes them. If someone else decides to make them, it's a good idea to have a flashlight/magnifying glass around a flexible neck and spare nail clippers (or somewhere to add your own). And get rid of those pointless side "guards" that make the clippers much harder to manipulate.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Hard to remember, but it was
