Review on Luminarc Quadro Fridge Jug - White Lid, 0.5l for Convenient Refrigerator Storage by Lamont Manjrekar

Terrible leaking hard plastic cap

French company. Sent from Japan. Made in China. I have an older, larger version of this pitcher from Arc/Luminarc. The old one has a nice soft plastic lid that fits snugly and allows you to shake the contents or even turn the jug upside down to mix the liquid without losing the liquid. Above. If you shake it in the closed position, liquid will spurt from above, and if you turn it upside down - disaster! This means I can't shake my drinks before serving, which is important for drinks that separate like crushed mint soda. Worse, while this plastic cover doesn't provide a useful seal, it's also MORE removable. I love the old versions of this jug and am desperate for some of the older models with softer tops. The new ones are just junk. If I find a source I will post it here. Edited to add that after a long search I found the perfect replacement! Bormioli Rocco Frigoverre Jar with Airtight Lid, 17 oz This wonderful glass jar has a lid that closes completely, although you have to take an extra step to close it by twisting the inner ring on the lid while holding the outer ring . I liked the old soft plastic cap on the Quadro better, but since it's no longer available I'm at least happy to find a well-made product that's actually leak-proof and can be turned upside down to shake.
