I wanted this to expand my headset with a mic so I can stay away from my laptop on long audio calls. But no matter what I do, everyone on the other side complains when I use it with a mic - there's too much noise. Eventually a roommate showed it to me - I used his phone and they called me from my computer on that extension. It was awful - lots of popping, buzzing and hissing. It can still only be used as an audio extender, meaning I can hear just fine when listening to music or whatever. But I wouldn't buy it for that purpose. If you want to use this with a headset with a built-in mic, look elsewhere.
