I have indoor and outdoor cats. One of them needs a special diet due to allergies. I have finally developed a feed mix that is helping her deal with her allergies and she is much happier. I started mixing this food into my regular formula to see if I could help her with her weight loss at the same time. She's not obese, but she's overweight. I haven't been using it long enough to see any real weight changes, but my cat's energy levels have definitely improved. Now she jumps and runs throughout the game, not just riding on her back. Her mood also changed for the better. I've seen her have fewer conflicts with one of my other cats who she really doesn't like. She rarely growls or throws a tantrum when he walks past, and that's only since I started mixing this food into her diet. (Though I know I can't fix the hiss. A stubborn girl just doesn't like guys.)
