After doing a little research on the subject of activated charcoal, I'm pretty sure it's a marketing gimmick. I can't find any real evidence that it makes a difference. Like toothpaste, it's great. It has a pleasantly mild and minty taste. The difficulty lies in getting it out of the tube. The hole is so small that you have to use a lot of force. I'm a 47 year old male and I really had to squeeze the probe. I think the good thing is you probably aren't pushing too much. In general everything is fine. It left my mouth feeling fresh and my teeth clean. That's all that really matters to me.
