Easy to use, difficult to remove

I bought this product because I'm traveling in a van and it's important to secure things so they don't fall off while driving. The grip is incredibly strong, which is great! But when I tried to remove the object attached to the wall or countertop, it detached from the paint/wood leaving marks. This is a great product if you are attaching something that you will not remove.
