Superb Little Needles

These are round point needles. That means they're not designed to penetrate heavy-duty fabrics, so another reviewer may have damaged them. Ball point needles are designed for sewing knitwear without breaking the threads. Your purpose in beading is to traverse the strands of beads multiple times without piercing the previous strands. If you go through a strand of pearls for the second (or third) time with a sharp needle, you run the risk of piercing the previous strands, which not only weakens them, but also makes it difficult for you to detach them without cutting the strands in between strands. beads and start over. Some styles of beadwork require you to thread the thread through the beads as many times as the needle will go through. so that the ridge lines form clean lines, not wavy messes. Never apply force to a beading needle. Each type is very good and may break or bend. Learn to stop if you have to exert yourself to insert the needle. I love round pointy needles. I can work much faster without piercing previous strands. Tip: If you need to pierce multiple beads with a needle, you may need to purchase Japanese beads. They are much more uniform than other types, so if the holes are too small, there are not as many. If you need to use fewer regular beads, take one of the large eyed needles and thread three strands through it. Check all of your beads before you begin. If they don't let the test needle push through easily. Check thread size. Some bead manufacturers have thread size charts listing the bead sizes they are designed for. Download one and print it out. It is much more pleasant to work when you know which tools are for what.

Feels too short to work with. I like the Jewel Loom Needles better...
