Review on πŸ‘Ÿ Improved La Sportiva Bushido II Running Shoe for Men: Enhancing Performance by Matthew Sutton

Revainrating 4 out of 5

If he says order a size up, do it. There's also no arch support, so plan for the insertion.

Probably a solid running shoe for narrow feet with little to no arch support. Unfortunately, I have high arches and need a wider toe box. Pros: Grip and traction are very good, and the outsole support is fairly stiff, which is good for running on rooted trails. I had no issues with ankle roll and it was a fairly responsive shoe that I enjoy out on the trail. Cons: For me, only two runs (4.5 miles and 8 miles on a mountain bike trail, each climbing about 600 feet) had significant healing pain and left my fingers numb from about 3 miles on both runs. I attempted the first run without any support (4.5 miles) and had arch pain along with wound healing and numbness in the toes, indicating a lack of arch support. For the second run I added a pair of 3/4 length trainers and adjusted the lacing pattern for high arched feet to reduce the numbness issue. However, this eliminated the arch issue as it was generally very tight due to the smaller size of the shoe and did not help with toe numbness and aches/aches. I usually wear US 8.5 wide pants and these are a US size 9 which probably wasn't enough. So if he says order a full size I recommend that and if you need extra arch support I'll probably add another 0.5 to the US sizing. Problems with all (for reference).

Pros
  • Rubber Outsole
Cons
  • Almost OK
