JUST HAD TO CONNECT
I had a minor accident in my car when half a bottle of water fell over and spilled on the center console. What destroyed my front USB, the fuse didn't blow. It turns out that the front USB port in GM vehicles, which is also used for Android Auto and Apple Car Play, connects directly to the infotainment system. Searched the web and found that if you take out and unplug the USB module and then plug it back in, it resets. Unfortunately mine didn't come back to life so I ordered this new one and as soon as I plugged it in the radio responded to the new USB and all was better than before.
