It has always been difficult for an adult to find shoes because for years I wore a size 4 and 1/2, narrow. Now, at 67, my legs are wider and a bit longer. With Skechers shoes, some size 5 shoes tend to be a bit tight, while the size 5 and 1/2 are a bit loose. I chose to order them in sizes 5 and 1/2 which turned out to be too big as the back slides up and down when walking. However, as long as I wear thick socks, they are very comfortable. I usually buy boring black shoes. These are 'happy' pink shoes interspersed with other pastel colors. California had an unusually wet and cold winter this year and yesterday wearing them with thick socks made them even more fun on a gloomy day.
