We have an old sewage system and from time to time there has been a sewer smell and/or backlog. I used to use Rid-X to try and maintain a healthy enzyme system, but I didn't see how some of the detergents I use could possibly upset this balance. Anyway, I used my power router to clear the outgoing line but I still smelled that awful smell. I did a little research and came across this product. I started adding the recommended dose each day in a row until I used the whole bottle. The sewage smell diminished noticeably within a few days and completely disappeared around the fifth day. I kept adding the extra treatment until the bottle was empty. I've also since bought their monthly rinse off capsules to help keep the septic system in proper balance. No backups or smells since this switch. I cannot recommend this product enough. I bought a second bottle of emergency treatment to have on hand just in case. But I didn't even have to open it and it's been several months since the original treatment. Oh, one more point that has nothing to do with this product. I highly recommend considering an extra bidet for your toilets if you have a septic tank. We bought Luxe Bidet and installed it late last year. Super easy to install and probably reduce toilet paper usage by 80% or more. And we have two children (9 and 11 years old) who were constantly using too much paper, which made the septic problems worse. I've since added a bidet to our other bathroom and we haven't had any backups or issues since. The combination of a bidet to reduce solids in the system and Septic Blast products was the perfect solution for us.
