The product has to degrade over time and they make the blanket out of cheaper quality materials. While it's soft, it doesn't heat up evenly or at all in some places. I did notice that it warms up fairly quickly when turned on, that's all good I can say about it. High heat is warm at best. The lowest setting is almost like off. Then an even bigger problem is that not all the wires in the cast actually work. Entire sections of the ceiling do not heat at all. Leaves big gaps in what's warm and wants cold. Very poor quality control. Another non-litter issue is that this product came up when searching for a king-size electric blanket. This product isn't even the size of a twin, so it shouldn't be listed in both king and queen sizes.
