This phone holder is definitely better than my old one. My old phone holder had latches that were used to attach to one of the ribs on my air vent. The problem was that the weight of the phone pushed the vents down, so I couldn't point the vent towards myself. That doesn't help on hot summer days. This phone holder has an adjustable hook and three "legs" to keep the air vents from being pulled down, and three legs ensure a stable base. The bottom two legs are spaced about 3 inches apart, which can be helpful for knowing if you have a wider vent. I placed the holder so the bottom two legs are under the vent as you can see in the photos (Honda Accord car). The phone holder also comes with a base with tweezers should you prefer that approach. And there's a cable sticker, which is useful if you want to keep the charging cable out of the way.
