I've heard others say that the double sided tape isn't strong enough, but it seems good enough for my use. The springs on the flaps are strong enough to hold the cups in place. , but not so strong as to prevent the cup holder from being used for whatever else you might need it for. The only very minor downside is that you lose that little space between the cup holders. I liked hiding things in this place and didn't realize how many times I used them until they were there. But that's a very small price to pay for drinks held securely in the cup holder. I would definitely recommend this over other things available to address this little quirk of the Model 3 and Y.
