Blank screen - Lenovo cover sensor magnet issue

I am using Duex Plus on Lenovo Ideapad Windows 10 and the latest version of Displaylink. When a monitor was plugged in and the lid was closed, the laptop would not wake up and the screen would remain blank. If you remove the monitor or pull it out, the laptop wakes up. Lenovo has a magnetic sensor inside the lid and the magnetic mount interferes with it. Test to see if it's manageable or deal breaker. The sliding mechanism is also quite weak.
