Two things, I'm writing this review of the Beelink U55 8gigs and this is a first impressions review. First impressions mean I'll update my review over time, which only applies to electronic devices that people expect to last. After ordering this device and going back to the product page, I almost canceled the order because 1 star reviews appeared out of nowhere. Decided to continue shopping. After reading the 1 star reviews, the first thing I did upon receiving the machine was run the machine on an isolated network. I had no problems with the Windows OS and after Windows updates I ran two deep scans. No viruses found, so everything is fine. For me the overall design is very good. I like its compactness and light weight, I could easily place it on a well-ventilated surface with command bars. Under normal conditions, the fan was very quiet for any PC fan. However, when you subject the device to stressful tasks like deep scanning, you can hear the fan speed increase, but I don't find it annoying. The only problem I had was with the HDMI output ports. For now, this may or may not be an issue with Beelink. When setting up I tried to connect a regular TV as a monitor, it didn't work, nothing but snow. I switched to a regular computer monitor and it worked. Later I connected the TV via the second HDMI port. Everything worked fine for a few days, then there was a problem with the connection. Finally, I swapped the cables for others. Using one of the two cables provided by Beelink, the second was too short to use. At the moment, the machine copes well with ordinary computing tasks. Apps open fast enough, internet is way better than on the 8 year old laptop I used. It handles streaming from my home server to my TV while still using the internet pretty well. Bluetooth and WiFi work very well. I'm not a gamer or film editor, so my thoughts on how this machine would handle things like this are absent. One final note: I was careful to include exactly what I reviewed on the Beelink U55 8th Gigs as many Beelink products seem to get mixed up in the reviews.
