If you go to your friendly local Ford dealer they will charge you 160.00 for a new key fob and probably more to 'reprogram' the damn thing. This is a colossal waste of money. This replacement key fob works great after the "innards" of the old key fob have been installed. However, it should be noted that there is a small metal contact in the old key fob that must be carefully removed with needle-nosed pliers and installed in this block, otherwise there will be no electrical contact. Also suggest putting a new battery in the new key fob. The keychain case was a little tricky to put back together and you have to do a little work with it to get the perfect clasp, but my goodness, saving over $150.00 is it worth a bit of effort? You don't have to be very experienced. The definition of a weapon of mass destruction is a screwdriver in my hands, but I managed to pull off this operation with very little effort or skill, and so can you.
