Review on πŸ”© Enhanced Rannb Single Shielded Bearing Diameter for Optimum Performance by Tony Wylie

Suitable for light duty applications

I bought these to replace the wheel bearings on an old exercise bike. It has been used so much that the original bearings are simply worn out. It's an inexpensive bike for home use, but the person who owns it loves it, and for $12 and spare change I can get it running again. I bought this kit because it had the best combination of price and decent reviews. Bearings like these are getting cheaper and cheaper - you can still pay more for a set from a more established company (and I would for a more important application) but less than the retail price of a single SKF 6200Z. Bought a set of 10 universal bearings. And for such low-load, low-speed applications, they are suitable. Their dimensions were accurate - they went into the wheel hub with a very slight interference fit, and the cross shaft passed through the bearing's internal bore with no play. These are encouraging signs. Once assembled, the wheel turned smoothly and quietly with minimal drag. It's been almost two weeks and the bike is going great. The old ones have lasted almost 20 years and I have no reason to think the new ones will be any different than the others. In the meantime an additional 8 bearings will be sent to my parts inventory in case I need to do another low demand repair. The 6200 bearings are so widespread that it will probably be a matter of time before they are brought in to solve the problem.

Pros
  • Deep groove ball bearing
Cons
  • Not reliable
