This heater comes in a sturdy box protected with Styrofoam on the inside. The instructions for use are a bit questionable if you're unfamiliar with aquarium heaters, but they're easy to set up. The fact that the temperature control panel is on the outside of the tank is a nice plus as the water temperature can be easily adjusted without getting your hands wet. However, I believe this system could be made a bit more user-friendly if there was a way to hang the controller. There may have been some sort of warning on the box that an additional item must be added before the item can be used, but much of the back of the box has been rubbed off the shipping label. However, once the controller was put on, the readings were easy to read and accurate.
