The housing is too THICC! Is a 50/50 for internal cable routing

This cable is good but the OD of the housing comes in at 5mm. It worked for doing the cable with internal routing on my Santa Cruz but it won't work in my Trek Top Fuel. Busted a knuckle and spent an hour trying to mash it but no dice.
