I have a front mounted bobbin awl, when I broke the needle I realized that not every old needle would work with this sleek tool. So I switched the tools to an awl that had a spool inside the case and an adjustable tip for different needles (I didn't like that) so I took a chance and they fit perfectly, I'm back in business and very happy
