Average purchase, there is something to complain about.

The mouse is innovative, interesting, I have not found analogues on the market. The mediocre technical implementation of the scroll on this model ruins the impressions of this mouse. Can't recommend buying. A single-mode soft scroll is better than such an innovative miracle. On May 11, 2022 I bought G604, on May 12, 2022 I handed it back to the store as soon as it opened, not without the slightest regret, but with joy. Possession of this mouse lasted less than a day. I really didn't like the scroll, my wife, and the seller who processed the return and was curious about the reason for the return. We all had a hands-on opportunity to practice scrolling. This is the first mouse I've ever returned. Temporarily took out an ancient cheap wired genius tortured mouse, which is about 10 years old. There are no double clicks yet. The scroll is wadded, but much more intelligible in its work, absolutely quiet and without glitches. Just enjoying a completely ordinary mouse. Don't take this as an advertisement. All these 10 years I have not bought anything from genius.

Pros
  • 1) The manufacturer claims 240 hours of operation when connected via USB and 5.5 months via Bluetooth from one AA battery. Given the experience with the G305, I believe that this is close to the truth. 2) The HERO sensor, a cheaper version of which I have on the G305, has proven to work flawlessly. 3) Interesting comfortable ergonomics. 4) The ability to quickly increase and decrease the sensitivity of the sensor on the fly with two dedicated buttons that are easily accessible and do not interfere. 5) The ability to change the connection type from USB to Bluetooth on the fly. Although personally for my operation it is not in demand. 6) 6 additional side buttons. Although I never used them, even when there were only 2 of them - forward, backward. They also act as a mouse pickup. I don't need this. This nuance did not influence my choice. I would rather prefer the standard pair of buttons and a more comfortable pickup in the vacant seat. 7) Innovative 2-mode scrolling. The idea is very interesting. I really wanted to work with this. But unsuccessfully implemented.
Cons
  • 1) The mouse is heavy. Dragging on the table does not affect, but rearranging the mouse out of habit is a bit inconvenient. Not critical, I think to endure. 2) Innovative 2-mode scrolling. This is what attracts to the mouse in theory and strains in practice due to the mediocre implementation in this model. The heavy scroll wheel is carved from a single piece of iron. The balance is mediocre. In the classic mode, cutoffs are too rough, sharp, very noisy. With fast scrolling with notes of mechanical bounce. In order not to wake sleeping household members, you can switch to smooth mode, but I think it will be very inconvenient to work with this all the time. Small movements due to mediocre wheel balancing cannot be reconciled. I would like to spin it a little harder, but then immediately there is a need to catch the wheel with your finger. If you push the wheel well with your finger, it will spin for 10 seconds. On the MX Anyway 2S, a similar 2-mode scroll is implemented in a human way, it is a pleasure to use it. On this G604, alas, it was done poorly.
