It's legal!
I thought it was an overpriced plastic iPad clip but it looked like what I needed so I bought it. As it turns out this thing is super strong, it's probably half metal half plastic and very strong. Aside from the knob you turn to secure it to the table (or whatever else you clamp, including round objects like a trumpet or music stand), there's only one other knob to deal with, around angles and alignment to mount. , which is very nice. Very happy with this product.
