When I received my Freebord about 3 weeks ago I knew straight away that I was going to need gliding gloves. So I did some shopping and found this. I also found another pair of triple eights with thumb and finger pucks, but I went for a more nimble option. The puck does what it's supposed to, glides and provides enough friction to create a point where you can pivot. While the fingertips are Kevlar, they are thin and the thread holding the Kevlar is not itself Kevlar. That being said, if gloves are used properly, you won't need them. The washer has Velcro on the back and the gloves themselves have loop pads on the palms. The palm of all fingers is leather covered, however only the index finger of each glove has a leather backing. This gives the gloves breathability, which I really like. I bought them as handguards, not as a stunt slide platform, and they did the job perfectly. Other gloves may be better for training because they don't tear as easily.
