The only socks that can be compared are thermal insulation socks. My 7 year old can take off a small ladies sock. However, these socks are higher and not as loose, and the dog slips out of the boots. We live so far north it's almost Canadian. Our days were under 20F and my 7 year old has never complained about his feet getting cold. Not when he comes home from school, not on our backyard snow adventures, or walking the dogs. As long as they hold up to the wash I will buy them again. As a reminder, fluffy socks mean you need shoes with enough room to make up for it. In the fall, if they are not easy to slip with normal cotton socks, you need a larger boot with these fluffy warm socks.
