I live in a small apartment and wanted a tree that was easy to set up, take down and store - and it does the job. It took me about ten minutes to set it up. You assemble the base and poles, lower the "tree" onto it, place the star and light, and stick it into the grid. That's all! The material "wood" is better than most artificial trees. It's relatively soft and realistic, with lots of bright and colorful lights. With the remote control you can turn the light on and off, set a timer or choose from 18 lighting modes or an automatic mode that cycles through all patterns. The only disappointment is that you can't choose a solid color. The moving patterns are fun and interesting, with flashes and effects like swirls, sparkles, drips, fades, etc. in two/three/more colors, but you can't choose a solid color that would be practical. The light show is fun, although all the patterns are fast. It would be nice to have really slow fades, drops and swirls.
